Ramadan Fund

Muslim alumni can easily recall their Ramadans at Cornell. Despite an unrelenting academic pace, opening the fast with others who had shared in the day's sacrifice was a welcomed break. We were all away from our families and favorite home cooked foods. Yet, together a sense of community prevailed.

To make these iftaars happen, for years students donated from their meal plans, collected donations and benefitted from the generosity of Ithaca families. Gatherings were held in dining halls, homes, and at Anabel Taylor Hall.

With generations of successful Muslim alumni, Diwan seeks to help students capture the magic of Ramadan and inspire the vibrant togetherness that we all know is possible.
